Search Engine Marketing

What about Search Engine Marketing and Search Engine Optimization? (SEM and SEO)

Search engine optimization in a nutshell:

  • You must have unique, original and relevant information on your site.
  • You must update your site with new information on a regular basis.
  • You must set up a PRWeb.com account and put out press releases on the web.
  • Your site must be written in search engine-friendly code. WordPress is already written with great code, so this one is covered with a 750Sites site.
  • Search engine marketing includes optimization and advertising. We recommend small businesses and organizations start by advertising with Google AdWords Cost Per Click (CPC) campaigns and measure the results through web statistics (Google Analytics). There are many other options for advertising your website to targeted markets. The search engines enable you to market locally as well as nationally or globally. Search engine advertising campaigns have many great advantages over traditional ad media, and we provide a clear overview of search engine marketing and resources in our Web Planning Guide.

We encourage search engine marketing to be done internally for smaller budgets; our Web Planning Guide explains why and how you can do this. But we will happily manage it for you under our Content Development and Management services.

    Google AdWords / Analytics

I received a quote for several thousand dollars for Google AdWords and Analytics and other PPC (Pay Per Click) management. How can you do it in your $750 website package?

Google AdWords campaigns and Google Analytics reports offer a great entry-level solution for search engine marketing for small business. They are also complex applications that can be modified by experts to achieve optimum results.

We offer our clients a quick intro and setup to Google's services, as this is truly the fastest and most affordable way to get strangers visiting your website who would otherwise not see it. Today.

With that said, we realize there are intricacies involved with running major search marketing campaigns to get maximum return on investment. For clients with the budget to really attack the internet market, we offer management of outsourced certified Google AdWords experts to create and implement an advanced online marketing plan.

    Cost of Web Development

What is the difference between a $750 website, a $7,500 website and a $75,000 website?

Asking how much a website costs is like asking a builder "how much does a new house cost?" It completely depends on the budget and the requirements within that budget. The 750Sites Web Planning Guide helps you get pricing in order.

A $750 website, our lowest priced option, is a well-rounded website solution for small organizations who want to manage their website and web marketing. The $750 website is for marketing managers who have some level of content development experience. For example, you've been managing your company website in Frontpage for 6 years. Or you're still on a Yahoo! sites template. Or perhaps you worked enough late hours to teach yourself Dreamweaver. This low cost site is for you, Oh Wearer of Many Hats!

A $7500 site includes plenty of custom graphic design and photography, copywriting and custom programming.

A $75,000 site better be a nice site. That makes lots of money.

Many companies still pay from $10,000 to over $100,000 to have custom websites developed for their business. When you look at costs like that, it includes planning, most content development, custom programming, graphic design and special technical requirements. Some big companies do need this. To hire true web developers (programmers) to create your site from scratch, and a team of designers, writers and other content developers... that's still very pricey. 750Sites can help you manage your online marketing regardless of your requirements and budget.

    Hosting and Domain Names

What if I already have my own hosting and domain name?

No problem. You just give us access to your hosting account and we set it up for WordPress hosting. If your host does not provide WordPress hosting, you will need to get a new account.

Who do you use for hosting?

We recommend HostGator and BlueHost.com for small businesses and non-profits. They provide plenty of server space, bandwidth and email. Some companies need higher performance in security and uptime, so there are many more hosting options available. We help you determine your needs in our Web Planning Guide. The links above are our affiliate links with these hosting companies, and we do receive a small commission if you sign up through our site.

If you do not have a hosting account and domain name, we help you set this up in our initial meeting and review of the Web Planning Guide.

    WordPress

If we are using a pre-designed WordPress theme, how will I know my site won't look like everybody else's?

These themes are customizable to match your existing logo, colors and other brand guidelines. Once you add your unique content (images, words), the site becomes unique.

Think of it as looking at several different floor plans in a new retail development. The location you lease may look similar to the others when it's bare, but it will be uniquely yours once you add your storefront, paint colors, products, staff and interior design. Your business will not look the same as any in the shopping center. And your website will be uniquely yours as well.

If you want a completely custom WordPress theme, we will gladly provide an estimate once we have put together the web marketing plan.

What is so special about WordPress?

There are many "content management systems" out there, but WordPress has evolved as one of the best. It started out -- and is still considered -- a blog publishing tool, but it is now perfect for just about any website. Even large companies use it to manage their entire site. And it's just the one we choose to work with.

WordPress has many benefits. Here are some big ones:

    • Content Management: owners keep their website fresh with new, relevant content.
    • Future Scalability: this means your website can evolve without having to start from scratch each time you need to "remodel".
    • Open Source: this means it's affordable and has all kinds of neat "plugins" and "widgets" to enhance your website.
    • Clean Code: WordPress runs on modern, clean code. This is good for the search engines.
